Mice & Rat Control

NY rodents are instinctively shy and therefore hard to see and eliminate. But rats and mice can be a serious menace. Not only can they destroy your property but they can also spread serious diseases that could harm you and your family. These creatures are sneaky and can even be aggressive. They become dependent on your home for security and can present a serious infestation problem if not dealt with immediately. All Bugs will inspect your property and then effectively exterminate your rodent dilemma.

Rat Facts:

  • Household rats are aggressive when confronted and will bite
  • Rats are alarmed by traps and are almost impossible to catch that way
  • They live in walls, under porches, and other hard to reach places
  • These pests can carry and introduce various diseases into your household
  • Rats will carry disease-carrying bugs such as lice, fleas, and ticks into your house

Mice Facts:

  • House mice invade your home in search of food and warmth
  • Two mice can produce a family up to 200 in size in a couple of months

Hantavirus and Prevention:

The number one reason to exterminate a rodent infestation is the serious diseases they carry. In fact, Hantavirus is a serious syndrome that can result in death. Thirty-six percent of all reported cases result in death according to the CDC.

Preventing diseases such as Hantavirus from affecting your family all starts with rodent control. These simple suggestions will help you avoid serious problems.

  • Keep your home clean and all food stored in safe containers
  • Seal any large gaps, cracks, and holes that are on the outside of your home
  • Remove any piles of trash and/or debris that are around your house

Cockroaches

NY's cockroaches lurk in homes and businesses—multiplying fast and staying hidden.

They are the masters of survival. They find secluded areas in which to hide and can feed on almost anything. Their constant ability to evolve and adapt allows them to thrive on very little and spawn massive nests anywhere.

Signs of Infestation

Feces are one of the very visible signs that you have an infestation. They resemble coffee grounds and are usually in quantities. Cockroaches also omit pheromones that create a noxious and musty smell. The stronger the smell is, the bigger the infestation and the larger the problem. Other signs are dead cockroach bodies and white, oval egg sacks that are found under furniture and in dark corners.

Think you might have a roach problem? All Bugs can come to your residence and help assess the problem. Don't wait for a total home invasion.

Common Cockroach Facts:

Size and Shape: Cockroaches can range from 1/8 inch to over 1 inch long. They have two antennae, six legs, and wings. Their bodies are long and oval with a small head.

Environment: These pests can live in various conditions but their ideal environment is someplace warm with an abundance of food and water. Homes are the perfect breeding ground and allow cockroaches to maintain their nests all year round.

Activity: Roaches are nocturnal and like to stay hidden in dark, moist places. Most hide under furniture, behind appliances, and in cupboards. During the night they will come out to find food and water. Most cockroaches enter hibernation during NY winter months and live in large groups as a means of survival.

Food: Cockroaches prefer sweets and meat. However, they can consume pretty much anything to stay alive. They have been known to eat paper, hair, decaying matter, and almost anything else that is disposed of.

Reproduction: Just one cockroach is surefire indication that more are hiding just a few feet away. Cockroaches reproduce very rapidly. The female American cockroach lives up to 2 years and produces 1 egg sack a week. Each sack contains up to 15 eggs. At that rate thousands of cockroaches can be spawned over a very short amount of time.

Disease: Many of the substances cockroaches feed on and live around are dangerous to our health and can be spread easily by these pests. They contaminate human living space and can cause allergies, vomiting, dysentery, typhoid, and even gastroenteritis in extreme situations.

If you spot a single cockroach in your house or office you can be sure that there are hundreds, possibly thousands, hiding close by. If you are experiencing a cockroach infestation call All Bugs today. We will investigate the seriousness of your pest problem and help you get rid of it.
